This coarse has exceed my expectations, and I am forever grateful. As God calls us, and His word equips us, certification is essential…It is beyond words the Training and value offered here for ministers who are dedicated to serving our Master.
What's truly uplifting is how this helps us stay hopeful and trusting in God, while also nurturing our relationship with Him - and the wisdom gained makes us more empathetic and effective counselors.
This program was well thought out and organized, it brought many concepts forward with associated actionable content that will be directly applicable and re-usable as I journey forward.
Questions
A Christian deliverance counselor helps people find freedom from spiritual oppression through prayer, Scripture and the authority believers have in Christ. The work combines discernment with pastoral care: listening to a person’s story, recognizing open doors such as unforgiveness, trauma or occult involvement, leading prayers of repentance and renunciation, and supporting inner healing so the freedom lasts. Read more about the role.
Yes. Jesus set people free from evil spirits and gave His followers authority to do the same (Mark 16:17; Luke 10:17–19), and the early church continued that ministry in the book of Acts. The Christian Deliverance Counselor course grounds every practice in Scripture and teaches deliverance ministry with peace, compassion and wisdom, focused on Christ rather than on spectacle.
With the Christian Deliverance Counselor certificate you can serve on a prayer or deliverance ministry team in your church, offer prayer-led deliverance counseling one-to-one or online where local rules allow, support inner healing and follow-up care, and add deliverance skills to pastoral care, chaplaincy or ministry leadership. It is a ministry certificate, not a counseling or therapy license, and it does not qualify you to diagnose or treat medical or mental-health conditions.
Many evangelical and charismatic traditions teach that a believer cannot be possessed, because the Holy Spirit dwells in them, but can experience spiritual oppression: attacks, harassment or strongholds that affect the mind, emotions or circumstances. The Christian Deliverance Counselor course teaches you to tell obsession, oppression and possession apart and to minister to each with biblical wisdom. Oppression vs. possession explained.
No. Many struggles also have medical or psychological causes, so wise care looks at the whole person. The Christian Deliverance Counselor course teaches you to minister with discernment and compassion and to know when to refer someone to a doctor, a licensed therapist or emergency services, so that people receive both spiritual and professional help when they need it.
Minister deliverance in a team, with consent and under church oversight. Pray with at least one other mature believer, with your church leadership aware of the ministry; explain what you will do, ask the person’s permission and stop if they ask you to; pray with a minor only with a parent or guardian’s consent and presence; and never hold, restrain or force anyone physically. Students of the Christian Deliverance Counselor course should keep these boundaries in every session.
The Christian Deliverance Counselor course covers 10 modules: Introduction to Deliverance Counseling; Biblical Foundations of Deliverance; Understanding Demonic Obsession, Oppression and Possession; Identify Open Doors to Demonic Influences; Authority of the Believer in Deliverance; Breaking Generational Bondage and Curses; Ministering Deliverance; The Role of Inner Healing in Deliverance; Spiritual Warfare and the Armor of God; and Theological Foundations of Deliverance.
